Social Mentors

We employ social mentors all year to provide social and practical support to our students. Our mentors are all current University of York students, meaning they can provide our York Programmes students with an insight into life in York as a student. They also organise weekly events which can consist of:

  • A weekly social event that can range from karaoke, quizzes, films, treasure hunts, games, introduction to clubs and societies and many more...
  • The mentors also provide the students with information and help with planning their weekend trips. This can consist of advising them on how to get cheaper rail tickets, good locations to book hostels or hotels in London or Edinburg, among others.

The mentors also take the students on the campus tour on the first day of their programme which is a great way for the group to get to know the social mentor from the start of their programme.
