Welcome from the DMT Hub

Welcome to the DMT Hub site in the Department of Biology.

We provide a wide range of administrative support and professional services to staff in the Department of Biology and are based in B/K/118. Please contact us if you have any queries about the Department/administration or if you just don't know who else to contact and we will endeavour to support you or signpost your query to someone who is better placed to help you.

Please email biol-dmthub@york.ac.uk and you will receive email confirmation to acknowledge your correspondence at which point you will be informed which member of the DMT Hub is dealing with your query. Our team deals with all information and data in the strictest confidence. All emails sent to the generic address are handled sensitively and confidentially, in line with GDPR.

Angela Lipscomb - Department Manager - 8757

Claire Hughes - Administration Manager - 8510

Claire manages the DMT Hub and staff administration systems/processes to ensure staff are fully supported through their employment life cycle. Claire also provides senior administrative oversight and support for Departmental project work. She is a point of contact if staff wish to discuss support for themselves/others, and can assist in guidance regarding local and central policy/processes.

Louise Simpson - Management Team Administrator - 6413

The PA to the Head of Department and several other members of DMT. This role manages a number of extremely busy diaries and supports senior level recruitment processes as well as undertaking the activity identified below.

Gelayol Holme - 8713, Gemma Jaques - 8525, Victoria Ott - 8503: Administrators

Gelayol, Gemma, Victoria and Sophie support a broad range of administrative processes in order to facilitate the smooth running of departmental activity. This includes local support to compliment Human Resources (i.e. recruitment, fixed term contracts/fixed term funding processes, sickness and other types of leave etc), events, seminars, servicing committees and other groups/meetings. All four administrators are aligned with at least two members of academic staff to whom they provide dedicated administrative support.
