ERC Starting Grants and Consolidator Grants

Information regarding Horizon Europe and ERC Grants

ERC Grants are part of a wider programme of research and innovation funding administered by the European Research Council called Horizon Europe. UK researchers can fully participate in the Horizon Europe programme on the same terms as researchers from other associated countries, including leading consortia, from the 2024 Work Programmes and onwards. ERC Starting Grants

Are you a talented early-career researcher who has already produced excellent supervised work, is ready to work independently and shows potential to be a research leader? The ERC Starting Grant could be for you.

Brief eligibility summary (see funder guidance for full details)

Researchers of any nationality with 2-7 years of experience since completion of PhD (extensions are possible under certain circumstances), a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal.

Researchers from any discipline are welcome to apply.

ERC Consolidator Grants

Are you a researcher who wants to consolidate your independence by establishing a research team and continuing to develop a success career in Europe? The ERC Consolidator Grant could be for you. You can also apply if you have recently created an independent, excellent research team and want to strengthen it.

Researchers of any nationality with 7-12 years of experience since completion of PhD (extensions are possible under certain circumstances), a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal.

Researchers from any discipline are welcome to apply.
