Are you a talented early-career scientist who has already produced excellent supervised work, is ready to work independently and shows potential to be a research leader? The ERC Starting Grant could be for you.

Brief eligibility summary (see guidance for full details):

Researchers of any nationality with 2-7 years of experience since completion of PhD (Extensions are possible under certain circumstances — see the latest ERC Work Programme), a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal.

UKRO - ERC 2022 Starting Grant call Information Webinar Series 

The sessions ware aimed at researchers based in, or moving to, the UK who are planning to submit a proposal to the 2022 ERC Starting Grant call, and the research support staff who will be supporting these applications. Applicants are expected to be active researchers and to have a track record of excellent research.The webinar series will provide participants with a detailed practical overview of the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant scheme.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the proposal format and the key issues they are required to address in planning, writing and costing a proposal. The evaluation procedure and how to approach writing an application will also be explained. Registration for both events is required.

This series is presented by the UK Research Office (UKRO), who are the UK National Contact Point for the European Research Council (ERC).

Are you a scientist who wants to consolidate your independence by establishing a research team and continuing to develop a success career in Europe? The ERC Consolidator Grant could be for you. You can also apply if you have recently created an independent, excellent research team and want to strengthen it.
