Course description

This one-hour introductory session is for anyone who has not written a computer program before. If you are familiar with programming at some level, this session will not be necessary. We will explain:

  • how a computer works from the view of the programmer
  • key components of a computer program
    • variables
    • loops
    • flow control
    • data structures
  • the process of how the computer compiles your program code into instructions that can be executed by the computer
  • all the jargon associated with programming

After completing this you should be able to complete the Programming with Python course without being confused!
