Dear all

Looks like the weather isn=E2=80=99t going to be gloriously summery this we=
ekend,
which in some ways is a positive in that if we were on a nice holiday
somewhere it could be rained out!  Also the gardens could do with water.

As I mentioned last week we are still active at putting in lots of grant
applications and I asked Sally Baker to give me a list of some ones
recently submitted or are pending to get a sense of the activity.  The list
includes 14 applications that have recently been submitted with another
four in the =E2=80=98pending=E2=80=99 tray.  The amount of money the trials=
 unit would
receive if they are successful ranges from large HTA grants (e.g., a trial
of dental anxiety in children) to relatively modest amounts; however, it
does seem to me that despite the lockdown and the whole Covid-19 situation
we seem to be in a good position.

We are still working with the University on when people can return to the
office.  I know people are still making a massive effort working from home
and this is much appreciated.

I hope people have taken a look at the Wiki page =E2=80=93 I must admit I=
=E2=80=99ve only
really studied the pet page in detail =E2=80=93 I particularly liked the gu=
inea
pigs because as a child I had some lemon agouti guinea pigs, which I showed
at the Fur and Feather club.  Clearly we have our own fur and feather
enthusiasts =E2=80=93 is anyone going to set up as judges?   Perhaps a job =
for
Ailish?
