Dear all

I hope you are all well and aim to enjoy this nice weekend as much as
possible given the circumstances.  Some good news to report is that Laura
Mandefield has had a baby girl, which is fantastic.

Last week was Jenny McCaffrey=E2=80=99s last week with us as she=E2=80=99s =
taken up a post
with Newcastle Trials Unit and joins that select group of people that
starts a new job during lock down =E2=80=93 how strange must that be!  Than=
ks again
to Katherine, Alish, Mike and Stephen for organising the quiz last Friday
evening =E2=80=93 very pleasant.

I think there is potential movement stirring about re-starting trials.  An
email has gone to Directors of Trials Units asking about how non-Covid
trials should be prioritised when the lock down ends.  As I=E2=80=99m sure =
you are
aware it seems likely that the Prime Minister will announce some lifting of
restrictions on Sunday.  Hopefully, therefore, there is light at the end of
the tunnel and it=E2=80=99s not an oncoming train!

Unfortunately, I don=E2=80=99t have an amusing attachment this week =E2=80=
=93 contributions
for Week 9 are welcome.
