The Contract Researchers Forum (CRF) is looking to invite staff on
Research, Research and Teaching and Teaching and Scholarship contracts, PhD
students and research support staff to submit an expression of interest to
join the Forum.

*What is the CRF?*
The CRF is a researcher-led group, which works across the Department of
Health Sciences (DoHS) to facilitate a supportive and collegiate
environment, as well as to promote and organise training and network
opportunities both within and outside the DoHS).

The CRF also supports implementation of the Concordat for the career
development of researchers. Crucial to this is consultation with general
members, and the sharing of feedback with the Concordat lead, Training,
Development and Career Progression (TDCP) Committee, Departmental
Management Team (DMT), Head of Research and other related operational
groups.

*About the role: *Members of the CRF canvas members=E2=80=99 views on matte=
rs
relevant to DoHS researchers and students and communicate findings to
relevant DoHS personnel, DoHS and UoY committees, where relevant. The CRF
also creates, promotes and organises training and career development events
for DoHS researchers and students. CRF members meet quarterly to organise
and plan CRF activities; separate meetings, when required, are also held
within the Training and Communications teams. As members, you would also be
expected to attend and contribute to these meetings.

*Application process:* Expressions of Interest are welcomed from members of
all Department of Health Science research groups; currently, there are up
to three positions available in each of the seven research groups, up to 7
PhD positions (one per research group) and 3 research support positions.
Memberships are renewable on an annual basis, up to a maximum of 3 years.

To ensure representation from across the Department the CRF would
particularly welcome applications from PhD students, research support staff
and colleagues in the Nursing and Midwifery groups. In accordance with
Concordat, Athena Swan and Equality and Diversity principles, we
particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups including
male colleagues, those representing ethnic minority groups and individuals
with disabilities.

If you wish to submit an expression of interest, please send a short
statement (up to 500 words) to Karen Ramsden (karen.ramsden@york.ac.uk) by =

on Monday 5th October 2020* outlining:

   - Why you would like to join the CRF
   - Your role in the DoHS (research fellow, lecturer, research assistant,
   etc.)
   - Your contract=E2=80=99s function (research, research and teaching, tea=
ching
   and scholarship, research support)

Appointees will be expected to begin their new roles from Monday, 2nd
November 2020.
