Now in its fourth year, the York Open Research Awards provide an opportunity to celebrate projects and initiatives across all disciplines which engage with, reflect upon, or advocate for open research practices and principles. The scheme welcomes case study submissions from across our research community with £400 prizes allocated to students, postgraduate researchers and ECRs in each faculty. It also seeks to recognise work which encourages dialogue and broader thinking about open research, including interdisciplinary approaches and commitments to the public good.

Examples of previous projects recognised by the Open Research Awards can be found here: 2023, 2022, 2021. A selection of these have also been adapted as Open Research in Practice case studies.

These awards have been organised in collaboration between the University Open Research Advocates, Operations and Strategy Groups, with support from Research England Enhancing Research Culture funding.

The submissions form for this year’s awards will open on Tuesday 2 April 2024.

Please read the full terms and conditions before completing the form. The deadline for responses is 12 noon on Monday 22 April 2024.
